Care Expert (caregivers with their CNA)

About the role

As a Care Expert (CNA) at Castleton Home Care, you will provide compassionate and specialized care to clients, assisting with daily activities and ensuring their overall wellbeing.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Mobility: Help clients with ambulation and transferring, including proper positioning.
  • Personal Hygiene: Assist with bathing, toileting, incontinence care, grooming, shaving, dressing, and dental care.
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare grocery lists, shop for groceries, cook nutritious meals, and assist with feeding when necessary.
  • Specialized Care: Provide care for clients with special conditions and needs within the authorized scope of tasks.
  • Household Tasks: Perform light cleaning, laundry, and other homemaking tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Medication and Transportation: Provide medication reminders, transportation to appointments and outings, and run errands with or on behalf of the client.
  • Social Engagement: Engage clients in social activities, games, and exercise to promote holistic wellbeing.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document services performed, monitor, and report any health changes to the staff RN.
  • Adhere to Care Plan: Follow the scope of the care plan and perform activities listed within it.
  • Safety and Emergency: Be capable of lifting 25 lbs, provide basic first aid and CPR, and follow emergency procedures.

Requirements:

  • Certification: Must be a current CNA, LPN, or RN with an unrestricted license in Georgia.
  • Background Check: Must pass a background check, fingerprinting, drug test, and MVR (driving record) report.
  • Training: CNAs must have completed Georgia-approved training programs and passed the certification exam.
  • CPR Certification: Must have current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification from a recognized program like the American Heart Association.
  • Specialized Training: Must undergo specialized training to work with clients with conditions like dementia, Parkinson's, or other special conditions (if applicable).
